I’ve always been a fan of false eyelashes and eyelash extensions but over the last few years I’ve always been so hesitant with extensions because I always end up with few eyelashes left in my eyes after two weeks and not to mention the struggles during the first couple of days because of eye redness and itching and lashes poking in my eyes because it wasn’t properly placed or glue being used is not great.

Ive probably done 10 times of eyelash extensions in my life and all of them has either similar or worst case scenarios UNTIL I discovered this expat-popular place for eyelash extensions in Bangsar.

I was super nervous at the very beginning because I’m worried that I might be doing exactly what I’ve been doing for lots of times and will end up with the same results.

I still went. Obviously!

The moment I entered this place, Oh my! A super pretty little studio filled with gorgeous frames and decorations. Everyone is so friendly and you’ll see majority of them wearing extensions and looking very pretty!

FYI, you need to call first to make a booking, they seem to be always so full and busy most of the time.

Here’s my before eyelash extensions, 1 1/2 month ago:

At first, I didn’t know which eyelash extensions to have because they have plenty of options but the lady at the reception is very helpful discussing what type I would want to get, explaining to me the differences of each lashes and how natural and dramatic they could get.

Chanel is the name of the girl that did my eyelashes. It took her 2 hours to complete my eyelashes as she said I have plenty of natural eyelashes and she is making sure that all my eyelashes are blended well and perfect.

Here’s my photo after my eyelashes extensions:

The whole process was very relaxing, no redness, itching or any negative feedbacks.

I am super happy with my extensions. They’re super light and comfortable! It lasted me about 1 1/2 months until I came back for a retouch. Same style but this time it took me about 50 minutes only.

Here’s the before and after the retouch today. Note that the first photo is already after more than a month and it’s still looking good compared to other eyelash extension places.

I’m super happy and I will recommend to everyone and will definitely come back again!

Fame Cosmetics | Cream Eyeshadow Stick Review

Packing the whole makeup set has always been a bit of a struggle for me because I always find so hard which ones I would want to carry and doubt whether I really need all of my makeup.

A couple of weeks ago, a proudly Malaysian cosmetics brand, Fame Cosmetics, generously sent me their whole set of their new cream eyeshadow stick collections! I was amazed to receive such gesture.

The whole packaging is really pretty and neat, and the products are well secured inside the box.

The Eyeshadow stick physically is easy to use but I am not sure how much product it has inside and how long it will last. I guess I’ll find out when I finish it and will update this post.

After testing it myself for a couple of times and to my clients, I must say it’s actually quiet easy to use, and the more I play with all the colours, the more I discover how many looks I can make with these five sticks!

Personally speaking, these eyeshadow sticks are perfect for jet-setters! You can do a super natural makeup to smokey eye look for evening events.

As a makeup artist, I would highly recommend the Fame Cosmetics Cream Eyeshadow Stick to anyone who is struggling with brush blending – as you should know, blending properly your eyeshadow is very important in achieving a natural, clean look. It’s well-pigmented as well, so it’s a competitive product compared to high-end cosmetics.

This eyeshadow stick has five varieties of natural warm earthly tones, perfect for a natural look and can be used individually or mixed it all if you want to achieve a smokey or dramatic eye makeup.

Sweet Escape

Spending time on a beach and laying under the sun is just what I needed when the city life gets a little too much.

Driving about 2.5 hours from Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan is always the best place for me to escape. There is literally nothing to do out there –  at least on where I usually spend time. Because there are no distractions happening in this place, all you got to do is let yourself free from work, social media and chaos. It’s a perfect place to just relax, lay under the sun, appreciate the beauty of nature, let your eyes closed and empty your mind.

Travelling this time around, I was with the kids and my husband. For the whole weekend, all we did was play with the waves, collect little crabs and shells, build a sand castle for the crabs, lay under the sun until my husband turned red, play with the bunnies, and enjoy the best quality family time. It’s the best weekend I could ask for and the best remedy for all the stress we’ve got from work and other aspects.

This weekend reminded me how my life is so blessed and I’m feeling very grateful for all the things that I have. Despite how life sometimes disappoints me, I still manage to come back even stronger than what I used to. All of these strengths and motivations are coming from people I love most – my children, my husband, my family and friends. And I will never be grateful enough for having them in my life.

Makeup Workshop 101

Personal Makeup Workshop.

A day full of laughters, girls, makeup and learnings.

Today, I’ve gathered some expat girls, who are eager to learn and improve their looks and makeup skills – personally.

During my class, I asked the ladies to come in a clean, naked face.

Here are the steps of what we did today:

  1. Face assessment. It’s very important to know what your face shape is in order to know what type of makeup application is applicable for you or for the look you wanted to achieve.
  2. Primer Introduction. The basics. Skin care basics should never be forgotten to get a proper glowy look or for long lasting makeup!
  3. Foundation application. Steps and how to get your correct tone.
  4. Concealer. Proper concealing is very important to achieve a very natural look.
  5. Setting powder application.
  6. Proper eyebrow application.
  7. Eye Primer.
  8. Eyeshadow application. Learning different techniques on what suits your eyes.
  9. Eyeliner application.
  10. Curling and eyelashes.
  11. False eyelashes applications. (Optional)
  12. Proper contouring and highlighting. It’s very important to learn the proper techniques as it can change how your face will look at the end.
  13. Blusher. Proper blush application is very essential for achieving a glowy, natural look.
  14. Lipstick application.
  15. Setting spray.

The class ended up for about 4 hours as the ladies are having so much fun and did enjoy themselves, learning and making friends with everyone.

As a makeup artist, I love seeing ladies (or men) who are happy with how they look and how makeup gives them more confidence in daily basis or wherever they go. I love it when someone understands the art of applying makeup – whether it’s for dramatic purposes or natural look.
